Il Fiorello ("little flower" in Italian), a family-owned company, is dedicated to growing and milling the finest quality award-winning artisan olive oil. Through video and a short walking tour, we will learn about the history and production of olive oil and the significance of the term "extra virgin.” We will view some of Il Fiorello’s 3,000 olive trees and learn about different olive varieties as well as the state-of-the-art Pieralisi Gold olive mill, capable of milling five tons of olives per hour. We will also enjoy a guided tasting of several olive oils and a balsamic vinegar reduction, a freshly-prepared “picnic on the patio” luncheon overlooking the beautiful property, and time to browse in the small gift shop.
Menu: choice of grilled chicken or vegetarian sandwich on housemade roll, side salad, and gelato. Wine/beer will be available to purchase by the glass or the bottle.
Depart at 10 a.m. from the Davis Target parking lot and 10:20 a.m. from the University Retirement Community. Return to Davis Target around 3:30 p.m.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received 30 days prior to the trip will receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the trip will only receive a refund if your space can be filled from the waiting list.
Travelers must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine; if we do not already have a copy of your vaccine card on file, upload it when registering online, email it to us at DavisTravelaires@gmail.com, or send it to the Travelaires office, 646 A Street, Davis CA 95616. You will only need to do this once, as we will keep the documentation on file.
