On October 2, 1950, three kids appeared in the funny pages of seven newspapers. Over the next 50 years, Charlie Brown, Patty and Shermy would be joined by a cast of characters and forever change the landscape of the Sunday comics. At the Charles Schulz Museum, home of the largest collection of original Peanuts artwork in the world, we will learn more about Schulz and his work. During our guided tour, we will view his original comic strips, learn about the art of cartooning and Schulz’s role in its development, and view a re-creation of his art studio. The tour will include the museum’s three changing galleries, where we can experience the breadth of Schulz’s influence through varying themes. We will enjoy box lunches at the Warm Puppy Cafe, located next to the museum within Snoopy's Home Ice, the Redwood Empire Ice Arena. The cafe overlooks the ice skating rink, so we can watch the skaters over lunch.
