Luther Burbank, a botanist, horticulturist, and pioneer in agricultural science, developed more than 800 varieties of plants during his 55-year career. From 1884-1905, he lived in a charming Greek Revival house in Santa Rosa. The home is surrounded by more than an acre of gardens that include many of his horticultural contributions. We will enjoy a guided tour including the home with its original furnishings, the greenhouse, a portion of the gardens, and a summary of Burbank’s life. We will also have free time to visit the museum, gift shop and garden areas the tour doesn’t cover. Lunch will be at La Rosa Tequileria & Grille.
Depart 8:30 a.m. from Davis Target and 8:50 a.m. from University Retirement Community. Return in reverse at approximately 4:45 and 5 p.m.
