The Bear Valley Visitor Center in Point Reyes National Seashore features interactive exhibits covering the area's ecosystems and cultural heritage. During our self-guided visit, you can learn about natural environment, coastal Miwok culture, seismic activity, and conservation efforts that made Point Reyes a national seashore. In the auditorium you can view a variety of audio-visual programs. Outside the center, you can walk the Earthquake Trail, an easy, shaded .6 mile loop trail with information about the 1906 bay area earthquake. Along the trail, you can see a fence that jumped 16 feet in the earthquake, a testament to the power of the event. After our visit, we will drive a short distance to Point Reyes Station for lunch on your own and free time.
Depart 8 a.m. from Davis Target and 8:20 a.m. from the University Retirement Community. Return in reverse at approximately 5:45 and 6 p.m.
